Quietly in the morning

Quietly in the morning,
I rise and look at the sky,
To watch the darkness scatter,
As the sunlight opens the sky.

I see the wonder of creation,
As the sun warms up the earth,
And I see what God has given us,
For all that it is worth.

As the day begins I try to see,
All the good that lies around,
I must thank God for what He's done,
For His wonderful gifts abound.

As a new day lies before me,
All fresh and shining new,
I must ask God to guide me,
In everything I have to do.
