THAT ROBINSON CRUSOE THEME TUNE GOES VINYL AGAIN!

Who would believe that some 46 years after the BBC first broadcast “The Adventures of Robinson Crusoe” on Tuesday afternoons during October and November 1965 a record label would release a Limited Edition 7” vinyl single of the Theme Tune, surely a ‘must’ for collectors!

David Stoner, from Silva Screen Records, says “We wanted to release some of our catalogue on a vinyl format and thought this would be a fun one to do. Our first pressing will only be 300 copies but If it goes well, then we may look to do other things, such as Thunderbirds or the Joe 90 catalogue, also as 7" vinyl releases, in the future.”

During those years many young children were left with the Robinson Crusoe Theme Tune etched firmly in their memories and more so since the series was also repeated during many a summer holiday until 1981 when the contract ran out.

Since then there have been thousands of people searching for copies of that endearing Theme Tune and during those years tapes, CD’s and DVD’s have been published; and due to one particular web site, www.robinsoncrusoe.org.uk, they have been able to fulfil their dreams and relish in a wealth of information about the series and also order copies of that Theme Tune to bring back the childhood memories of long ago.

That highly orchestrated signature tune, with a definite upmarket beat, has stuck in the minds of thousands of people who even today are still searching for that very tune that brings back nostalgic memories of their long-lost youth.
