This Candle.
This candle, Lord, reminds us that
you are the light of the world,
a light shining in the darkness of the world,
a light shining in our hearts.
May this candle be a light for you
to enlighten us in all our worries and cares;
in the hardships and trials of life;
in all that we do today and everyday.
May it also be a fire for you to burn within us
as we show others the love
you have for your people.
May it be a flame for you to bring warmth
into our hearts towards all for whom we care,
all with whom we live,
those we work with and those we meet.
May the flame of eternal life
rest within our hearts so that everyone
we meet sees your light shining upon them.
Help us to continue this, our prayer,
into everything we do each and every day.
