DO YOU REMEMBER...
"THE ADVENTURES OF ROBINSON CRUSOE" ?
(First broadcast on BBC TV (UK) way back in 1965.)
That haunting theme tune and enchanting musical score was part of a 13 part black and white dramatization syndicated in the U.S.A. in 1964 and first screened in Britain on BBC TV in 1965. It was repeated in the 1970's. For many years it has been etched in the consciousness of thousands of people who have fond memories of the series. (I first set this page up in 1995, searching for the origins of that haunting theme tune! See the INDEX below for a history of my research.)
[Edit: August 2009] The new DVD, it seems, is everywhere, there are plenty of copies on many internet stores!
I have been watching the statistics of my web sites and there is a definite growing interest in my "The Adventures of Robinson Crusoe" site. The visitor counter will soon exceed the most popular page on my site.... "International Time Zones", (finding the time anywhere in the world) so many thanks to all my visitors for their continuing interest.
Feedback from emails, site statistics, and signings in my Guestbook indicate that many people are still searching for the origins of that haunting theme tune and have stumbled on my own Robinson Crusoe pages just by chance; but many come from searches at the "Google" and "Yahoo" sites and quite a few from the "Wikepedia" pages, so it proves that the haunting theme tune, and the series, is somewhat fixed in peoples' memories even after all this time!
I just wonder how many Tapes, CD's and DVD's my site had encouraged people to buy over the years, since I first set up these pages in 1995!!
Below is the INDEX with pages which also include the CD booklet text, the credits, and how you can obtain the Video Tapes, audio CD, or the recent DVD, TV schedules, pictures of Robert Hoffman and my research.
I recently found out [August 2009] that you can now DOWNLOAD the audio CD and individual tracks from it!! See the INDEX below. Enjoy the pages, and the music, and if you have any comments then please email me below or sign my Guestbook at the foot of the page.
(Permission has been given to me by SILVA SCREEN RECORDS LTD. to reproduce the CD booklet as seen on these pages.)
